The beauty industry is one of the most competitive spaces in organic search. Thousands of websites — global brands, marketplaces, retailers and independent salons — all compete for the same commercial keywords, and most of them have been building authority for years.
In that environment, simply publishing products is not enough. A catalogue on its own gives Google very little to work with: no clear structure, no keyword focus, and no reason to rank one page over the hundreds of near-identical alternatives already indexed.
Working as SEO Specialist on behalf of Lumière Studio Salon, the objective set for this campaign was to create long-term organic visibility while reducing the business’s reliance on paid advertising — traffic the company would continue to own once the campaign ended.
That shaped the entire approach. Rather than chasing short-term ranking wins on a handful of head terms, the strategy focused on building sustainable SEO growth: a technically sound foundation, keyword-mapped pages, optimised content and an internal linking structure that compounds in value over time.
Full-site audits to establish a baseline and identify the issues holding organic performance back.
Crawlability, indexation and site health fixes so search engines can access and understand every page.
A logical category and product hierarchy that reflects how customers actually search.
Commercial, category, product and long-tail research grounded in real search demand.
Every priority keyword assigned to one dedicated page to remove overlap and cannibalisation.
Titles, meta descriptions, headings and on-page signals aligned to each page’s target intent.
Product pages rewritten and structured to rank for commercial, purchase-intent queries.
Category pages built into strong landing pages for broader, higher-volume terms.
Thin content expanded into genuinely useful pages that answer the query behind the search.
A deliberate linking structure that spreads authority and improves crawl efficiency.
Ongoing tracking of clicks, impressions, CTR and average position across the campaign.
Query-level analysis in Google Search Console to find and act on emerging opportunities.
Clear monthly reporting tying SEO activity to measurable organic outcomes.
Before anything else, the site had to be something Google could crawl, index and interpret cleanly. This stage removed the technical friction that was limiting every page on the domain.
Research was translated into a single source of truth: one page, one primary keyword, one clear intent — removing internal competition between similar pages.
Mapped pages were then rewritten to earn the rankings. Thin descriptions became genuinely useful content built around what the searcher wanted next.
Internal links were used deliberately rather than incidentally — guiding crawlers to priority pages and helping customers move naturally through the catalogue.
SEO was treated as an ongoing process rather than a launch. Each month’s Search Console data informed the next round of improvements.

“Over 1.4 million Google impressions and 17,900+ organic clicks generated through a structured long-term SEO strategy.”
The headline numbers are the visible part of the campaign, but the more durable outcome was the SEO infrastructure left in place. By the end of the twelve months the site was structurally healthier, easier for Google to crawl, and built on pages that each had a clear job to do.
That matters because it changes the economics of future growth: new products and categories now launch into a framework that already works, rather than needing to be rescued afterwards.
Rankings sit on top of infrastructure. Clean crawling, indexing and metadata gave every later content and linking improvement something solid to build on.
Pages that answered the exact query outperformed broader, generic content every time. Matching intent at page level proved more valuable than adding volume.
The strongest results arrived in the later months, not the first. Consistent monthly optimisation compounds, and that is what turns visibility into sustainable growth.
Search Console query and page data showed which terms were rising and which pages were close to breaking through, so effort went where it would move the numbers.
